There are striking bands of red jasper against black metallic hematite on this 9x14 freeform cabochon that I cut from material I collected last summer near the famous, now closed Groveland Mine outside Randville, Mi.  I set it in a one-of-a-kind mounting and used a fancy, handmade size 8 split shank ring band.
