Badlands Chalcedony Cabochons
I collected this material in the area south of the Badlands National Monument back in the mid-80s.
It lays all around the surface in rows as if it formed inside of the cracks of the soil as in the picture below.
Most of it wasn't good for anything, but occasionally I found a piece thick and solid enough to cut into small cabs.
Some of the material that was good enough for cabbing actually resembled Graveyard Point plume agate a bit and I cut several
cabs from it. For the most part, this material is light grey and translucent, but occasionally you can find plumes of
white, gold, pink and orange.

Unusually shaped freeform, it's kinda, but not quite egg-shaped, of this very uncommon material that totally resembles
Graveyard Point plume agate from Oregon. It very difficult to grade through this material and find a good cutting piece
like this! You'll honestly never see another piece of this gemstone again. Approx. size: 15x18 Weight: 10.55
