Neal Juntunen and I got out for the whole day and visited several different iron mining sites throughout the Norway and
Vulcan areas. We were able to find hematite, goethite and limonite along with some quartz crystals stained red, black
and yellow from the iron minerals. Some of the quartz are truly beautiful! What a great day!

April 14, 2007 Felch and Randville, Mi.

We went out near Felch, Mi. and collected specimens of chalcopyrite, chalcopyrite crystals on dolomite crystals, specular
hematite. goethite, and rainbow hematite ( a mixture of specularite and rainbowy goethite, all in a roadcut west of town.
We also went to a small marble quarry east of Randville, and looked along the road edges of a couple of quarries north of
Felch. At the Felch quarries we found specimens of green and pink dolomite (some with pyrite), tremolite
crystals, and wollastonite.
